Chamber Programs are part of the Chamber business plan and are designed to meet the current needs of our members. Programs change as the needs of our members change. These are active volunteer programs that the Chamber coordinates annually. If you have any questions about these programs contact the Chamber at 936-634-6644.
Leadership Lufkin
Leadership Lufkin is a nine-month program designed to identify and educate the existing and potential leaders of Lufkin and Angelina County. It consists of day-long sessions targeted at orienting the class to particular aspects of the community, such as the health care, social services, local/county/state government, education, economic development, and quality of life in Angelina County. The program also includes classroom-style leadership skills training.
Leadership Lufkin Alumni Association
In May of 2008, the Leadership Lufkin Alumni Association was established to provide opportunities for Leadership Lufkin graduates to support the local leadership programs (Leadership Lufkin and Leadership Tomorrow) in as many ways as possible. This includes overseeing the leadership programs, continuing leadership education for alumni through speakers on important issues, reconnecting with classmates, establishing networking and new friendships, providing scholarships, and giving back to the community by providing quality leaders.
Leadership Tomorrow
Leadership Tomorrow was developed for high school juniors and is hosted by the Chamber. The program mirrors the Leadership Lufkin program. Students in the program have the opportunity to learn about Angelina County firsthand and to explore opportunities that exist for their futures in this area.
The Diplomats
The Diplomats are the Chamber's public relations arm and are in charge of the Chamber’s Annual Banquet, Ribbon Cuttings, Power Networking Breakfasts, and Business After Five. They also handle our New Member Showcase. The activities of the Diplomat program enable Chamber members to learn about business opportunities, networking, community education, economic development and legislative issues.
Leads Exchange Group
A Leads Exchange is a proactive group of Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce members whose objective is to provide a monthly networking agenda, for the purpose of generating new business through fellow member leads and referrals.
